When I embarked on this ‘journey’ I contacted all the main Gold IRA companies listed in your directory and made a table showing everything each company did during each interaction, good and bad so I could help make my decision.

Some companies I discounted almost immediately as they called my cell an average of 8 times over the spce of a day and evening. This is desperation or the start of a hard sales call. I am in sales myself so I know what I’m talking about.

Other companies when I asked them about pricing got very defensive and even aggressive making up tall tales about how it’s difficult to price gold or silver without knowing what kind of coins I would want. I said I wanted the most basic gold or silver available at the lowest possible price and that giving me these prices should be straightforward given that gold and silver are commodities and sold on weight. If I wanted 1000oz of silver and 50oz gold I would have assumed an answer would have been easy but no.

Why no?

Because these companies wanted to sell me ‘special’ coins with a better value than regular bullion coins or bars.

I reiterated that no I only wanted basic bullion coins and did not care what they were other than they had to be allowable in my IRA.

They persisted and would only continue if I at least gave them the option of seeing what a portfolio with special coins in it could look like. They would give me an illustration / quote.

Before these calls I had priced up what 1000oz silver and 50oz gold should cost, basing my math on 10oz silver bars and 1oz gold american eagles as these seemed the best for resale, from looking on forums and reading up on what coins make the best investments.

Would you believe it , but their illustrations came back and in each case I would own almost HALF the precious metals I had calculated possible if I went with their special coins?

When I pressed them and said that collectable and rare coins were not allowed in an IRA unless proofs from the US mint, they got very aggressive and gave me all sorts of lies about these coins being allowed. I asked if they were allowed because they were not in fact collectible, but ordinary bullion coins at a huge mark-up. When faced with this conundrum about collectibles not being allowed, but these being collectibles not bullion it’s like they realized they had been rumbled and said I was not their typical customer and suggested I tried elsewhere.

Which brings me onto Noble Gold!

It shouldn’t be hard to get a price and some good honest feedback and that’s exactly what I got with Noble.

No hard sell, no dancing around half-truths and obvious nonsense about ‘collectibles’ not being collectibles in the IRS sense, but still collectibles in the minds of investors!
