I’ve sold gold with HGM before and had no issues. Recently I bought a sovereign from their “best price” range as a gift. While the year wasn’t specified, it turned out to be a 1907 – and it’s recipient was thrilled to receive something that is both an antique and an investment! Thanks, HGM!

Rates were comparable to the Royal Mint’s buy back service, and they were similarly up on current metal values. If you live within driving distance, taking your bullion there is a lot quicker than posting and avoids the insurance costs of sending mail. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and the turnaround was quick – money appeared in my account much more quickly than when I used RM buy back. I’ve used them twice now and they’ve proven very trustworthy.
