I recently visited Arizona Gold & Silver and comments were made that concerned me.

The gold was weighed in front of me then taken to the back to test purity which came back 22kt. As I had checked the spot price previously I quickly calculated a market price of $135/gram. I was given a price of $90/gram. I asked what spot price was used twice then J**** (the owner) leaned over from the next window and said, “I pay $90/gram”. “For 22kt?”I asked. He nodded and said “That’s what they told us”. “I thought you paid 20% below market” I said. “That was before” he said “not now”. He seemed to be getting upset and said “If you think you can get a better price…”

These were answers from someone being deceptive.

I may be wrong but as owner he can choose to pay whatever price he wants. Who is “they” that told him $90?

“Before”? Before what?

I don’t like selling my gold and like the vast majority of people do so because they need money now. In Yuma there are 3 choices: Arizona Gold & Silver, pawn shop or jeweler.

I have been selling to AG&S for 20+ years. They have always indicated to pay 20% below market. Although I have asked many times how their price was determined I never get an answer.

The standard formula to determine gold value is:
WeightXpurityX(spot price÷31.1).

How you determine the price you pay should not be a secret. Transparency shows honesty and that’s all I ask.

I accepted the $90/gram because of the 3 choices you pay more than the others which makes you the only choice.

I gave 3 stars because the people are always polite, pay more than others and in cash.

Not a bit happy with amount of money returned from appropriate 37 lb of dental gold scrap. Elemetal send amount owed to me said gold, no mention of platinum or platinum when I questioned it they said they didn’t know I wanted that done also,wouldn’t answer my question on what they were going to do with it but they didn’t tell me it existed until I asked. I had to pay additional $75 refining fee.when they were supposed to wire $ to my account it 3 days of phone calls to get my money. All in all a bad experience, never again!

Horrible. Basically took all of my money in broker fees and storage fees. Do not use this company. They will not even send a statement.

I wouldnt step foot in Vermillion again. Bad attitude. Very accusatory. Stereotyping someone when you walk in the door. Go to the Coin Guy. Definitly a more experienced bullion dealer.

This review is from a personal experience. I am not affiliated with the Coin Guy, I was treated fairly and wasn’t judged when I walked in the door at the Coin Guy, unlike Vermillion.

Stopped in today to sell some old coins. M*** (one of the owners ) happily greeted me. He looked over the coins , then said G**** had to look at them. I was like “ sure , I can wait “ . I know G**** was with a customer looking over their collection. 15 minutes go by ( no biggie ) M*** comes up to me and makes sure I’m ok waiting . I’m like “ no problem I’ll wait “ . Then another 15 minutes go by , G**** finished up with the customer and then tells me “you need to make an appointment for next week” . I’m like “ you could have told me that a half an hour ago “ . He just shrugged it off , I just left and went to Olde Saratoga coin. I’ve spent thousands of dollars buying and selling coins at Ferris for over 10 years. Just disappointed how this situation was handled.

During my last visit an older gentleman was showing some watches to the lady
(A*****) . When she told the man she was not interested in buying them I asked what kind of watches they were. He replied “Tissot” . I just said “ oh nice” and he was on his way. A***** then came over to me and said I was not allowed to buy anything from customers in the store. First off I’m a watch collector who shares common interests with other collectors. I did not , or was not trying to Buy anything from this guy. I just was curious what types of watches he had / liked. When A***** accused me of trying to poach customers it really Offended me.

The Gold Guys are my go-to place for unloading jewelry I’ve bought at thrift stores and garage sales. It helps they’re near by but I’ve never been disappointed.

easy company to work with and good prices offered. Don’t accept their first offer as it can be lowball but stick to your guns and they’ll beat just about anyone
